Sovereign Immunity

The bill stipulates that professional firms, or their employees, providing monitoring and inspection services for state roadway, bridge, or other transportation facility construction are to be considered agents of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) during their contractual work. These firms must indemnify FDOT to the extent required by law for liabilities, including attorney fees, caused by the firm's negligence up to specified limits.
