Saving Money and Accelerating Repairs Through Leasing Act

The SMART Leasing Act establishes an enhanced use lease pilot program. Authorized by the Administrator of General Services, this program allows federal agencies to lease underutilized nonexcess real property and related personal property at fair market value. The objective is to optimize the use of federal assets while generating revenue that can be reinvested in capital revitalization and deficit reduction.
