Western Balkans Democracy and Prosperity Act

This bill aims to strengthen U.S.-Balkans relations by promoting economic growth, democratic resilience, and regional integration. It encourages U.S.-Balkans trade through reduced dependence on Russian energy and increased renewable energy use. It supports EU and NATO integration and addresses corruption and cybersecurity vulnerabilities by strengthening regulatory frameworks. The Act promotes small and medium-sized enterprises, particularly those led by women and youth, and enhances educational and cultural exchanges through programs like the Young Balkan Leaders Initiative. Additionally, it mitigates Russian and Chinese influences and supports independent media and civil societies through training and enhanced cyber defenses.
