Elevator Accessibility Requirements
HB 299 mandates that all elevator cars installed after October 1, 1990, must include at least one support rail. These rails need to be smooth, continuous, and a minimum of 42 inches long, placed between 31 and 33 inches above the car floor, and must not use materials such as wallpaper or cloth.
