False Reporting

The False Reporting bill makes individuals who misuse emergency communication systems or submit false reports to law enforcement authorities liable for the costs of prosecution and investigation. If the false report causes injury or damage, they must pay restitution. This also affects the School Safety Awareness Program by encouraging accurate reporting and penalizing false tips.
