Drug Testing for Welfare Recipients Act

The bill mandates drug tests for certain welfare program applicants aged 18 and above. Assistance is denied if individuals fail or refuse tests, unless completing treatment and retesting negative. States must assess arrest records for drug offenses over five years. Housing assistance under similar conditions is also affected. Administrative costs cannot be imposed on individuals for drug testing.
