Labor Fair Practices: Prohibiting Employers from Asking About Pay or Credit History

This bill would make it illegal for Michigan employers to ask job applicants about their past wages, benefits, credit score, or credit history during the hiring process. Employers would also be prohibited from requiring employees to sign agreements that stop them from sharing their wage information with others. The bill protects employees from being fired, disciplined, or discriminated against for discussing or disclosing their pay.
